For Immediate Release Pepper Acquires Mersoft Networks, Llc

Becomes the industry leader in live video streaming technology

(Overland Park, KS, October 9, 2020) – Pepper, a leading Internet of Things platform as a service, has acquired Mersoft Networks, LLC, the video technology subsidiary of Mersoft Corporation. This acquisition gives Pepper access to an impressive set of video processing capabilities, technology and intellectual property. With the acquired technology, Pepper now has the quickest live stream startup in the industry and sub-second latency for live video streaming.

The acquisition adds to an already impressive set of video, IoT, and service delivery capabilities that are part of the Pepper platform. With the acquisition of Mersoft Networks’ patent pending technologies Pepper controls each element of the technology stack, from device, to cloud, to app, ensuring delivery of fast, efficient, low latency live streaming video to enterprise customers and their end users. Scott Ford, CEO of Pepper said “WebRTC is the video technology of the future. Our unique and patent pending deployment and utilization of WebRTC as part of the Pepper platform allows access to more markets that demand higher quality and more reliable video service capability.” Pepper currently has more devices deployed with WebRTC than any other video services provider. Ron Sloop, CEO of Mersoft Corporation commented, “We have long been impressed with Pepper and their Internet of Things platform and
commitment to video. We know from experience that mobile video is hard. The Mersoft Networks’ assets are key differentiators in the marketplace for delivery of real time video. Pepper is now the leader in this space.”

Mersoft Networks’ patent-pending technology eliminates transcoding, which produces the lowest latency in the industry for live streaming video while providing high quality and reliability. Due to its lean code, the software has a very small footprint, which requires less resources on the device and improves processing efficiency. Further, the firmware is deployed directly on the camera eliminating the need to change protocols – it’s WebRTC from the beginning. Scott Ford commented, “The market is increasingly realizing that WebRTC is the best and most efficient video transmission technology for delivering a live video stream to a mobile device or any video appliance. Pepper is leading the way with end-to-end video service delivery for our enterprise partners and their end users.”
